SWOS membership is available to all career grade ophthalmologists working in the South West of England and South Wales. Ophthalmologists in training grades are eligable for Associate Membership.

  • SWOS Friday 15th November  2019 Run by Swansea. PLEASE NOTE: This is run by Swansea but was actually held at the Clifton Pavilion in Bristol where we usually hold the November meeting.

Extra Exeter Meeting The Great Hall, Exeter University, 8:30am to 5:30pm 4th October 2019

The West of England Eye Unit is planning an annual regional meeting in Exeter on 4th of October 2019. I am inviting you to please register your interest to enable us to make catering and other arrangements by emailing Miranda Pihama (miranda.pihama@nhs.net).

The conference theme has already generated very good interest in the region and we have been given 6 CPD points by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

We are very pleased that Prof Eyal Banin, Jerusalem, Israel;  Baroness Susan Greenfield, University of Oxford; Ms Rumana Hussain, University of Liverpool; Mr Omar Mahroo, Moorfields Eye Hospital; Prof Stephan Michels, Zurich, Switzerland; Prof Tunde Peto, Queen’s University Belfast, have agreed to be speakers.  All the speakers are very well known in their fields internationally.
